Life-Balance
Fly-Fishing Weekend
From time to time, everyone needs a respite from life as usual, a chance to get back to basics, back to balance. The Center for Positive Change weekend getaways provide that, and much more. Our specialty is creating outdoor coaching experiences to refresh mind, body and spirit.
Renew with Nature
Through 20 years of experience helping individuals, families, and work teams, we have found that water activates—and often accelerates—the processes of renewal and inner balance. These positive changes take place on water, the wild waters of natural rivers. That’s why we emphasize unspoiled locales that afford the art of fly fishing.
Our August 15-17 trip to the unspoiled fishing sites on the famed and beautiful Elwah River is one of the Center for Positive Change favorites. We will fish between the two dams which are soon to be removed. We will also day-hike and fish above the dams to experience the beautiful back country. Those participating in this trip will experience all the comforts of home as we bed down in our special lodging.
In the evenings, relax at the lodge, laugh, and learn tips from local guides, review the events and fish stories of the day, join the informal discussion and swap tools and ideas for maintaining harmony and balance in a hectic world. Return home focused and rejuvenated.

What Others Are Saying About Our Weekends…
St. Helena Star editor (former), Rich Lofton says….
The scenery was breathtaking, the fish wild and the waters pristine. Upon leaving the lodge, I reflected on my weekend. This fishing retreat was just what the doctor ordered and I learned how to fly fish and even caught some big ones too. We pondered over our home work on the drive back, which motivated me to find more balance in my life and spend more time doing the things that recharge my batteries.
Renee Paladini, President of Paladini Properties says…
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the wonderful fly-fishing weekend! I returned very tired but amazingly refreshed and relaxed. It was a fantastic experience and I feel I learned some valuable lessons. For one thing, simply trying something new that I had never thought of trying before has made me wonder how much I might be missing in my life.
