Casting For Change
A Fly-Fishing Weekend
You’ve accomplished much in life. But there may still be a few areas which:
- Are personally frustrating because you have tried repeatedly to make lasting changes without success.
- Are professionally frustrating because getting others to accept and maintain change is a struggle. To make matters worse, your formal training may never have provided “best practice” tools in which to help others really change.
We have found that one of the best methods to enact change in others is to manage change in ourselves. When we experience the change process first, then we are more adept at facilitating others.
The Center for Positive Change offers this weekend jump-start to increase your potential for becoming the change agent you would like to be. Your task in preparation for the retreat is to decide the personal change you would like to use as a template in developing your change management skills.
Whether you are a novice or experienced fly-fisher, you will be encouraged to expand new skills to your fishing technique.
Two Casting for Change open enrolment retreats are planned this season:
Fishing for Winter Steelhead will take place March 21-23. Depending upon the river conditions we may be fishing the Hoh River, Bogachiel River, Sol Duc River, or the Calawah River.
Backpacking September 11-14 into the Olympic National Park will become the end of a perfect summer for many of our clients. We will begin our 5 mile backpack trek from Obstruction Peak (near Hurricane Ridge) to Grand Valley. Make camp at Moose Lake Thursday afternoon, just in time to fish the evening hatch. We will fish all day Friday and Saturday at either: Moose, Grand, or Gladys Lake. In the evenings, we will relax at camp, laugh, tell fish stories, and learn tips from local guides. We will swap tools and ideas for maintaining harmony and balance in a hectic world. After an early fish on Sunday we will pack up return home focused and rejuvenated.
