Sharpening Your Management Skills
A Fly-Fishing Week
Whether you are a physician, an attorney, a fund manager, or a CEO, you likely wish you had more influence with the people in your life. Rather than just developing coping strategies, you can learn some state-of-the-art tools for managing change.
At the beginning of this week, you will learn the foundational techniques of the Casting for Change weekend. We will spend the rest of the week making application to your fishing skills, your personal goals, and your professional goals. You will learn robust strategies for motivating change in others.
Located on the southern edge of Mexico’s Ascension Bay, Casa Blanca has long been recognized as one of the world’s premier saltwater fly-fishing destinations. Offering consistently-great action for bonefish, permit, tarpon, snook and jacks, this is the ideal destination for novice saltwater anglers and seasoned fly-fishermen alike. For those who have never been to Casa Blanca, imagine an undisturbed Caribbean setting virtually uninhabited and extraordinarily beautiful. There are miles of shallow bays, secluded mangrove-rimmed lagoons, white sand beaches, and coastal jungle. The area’s pristine waters are home to incredible numbers of game fish – fish that are found pushing water, tailing, and cruising across the sandy flats and turtle grass. The quality of the accommodations and food, the caliber of the guides, and the overall atmosphere of the lodge all combine to create an experience that is truly unique for a Caribbean fishing resort.
The waters surrounding Casa Blanca offer the light-tackle saltwater fisherman one of the most diverse selections of game fish in the world. When conditions are right, an angler can cast to bonefish, tarpon, snook, permit, jacks, barracuda, cubera snapper, mutton snapper, sharks, and several different reef species in a single week of fishing. This kind of angling opportunity can only be found in a few locations throughout the world. Each day you will have the option of fishing from a skiff or wading, and the Lodge’s on-site fishing coordinator can give you advice on angling methods, availability, equipment and fly selection for the numerous species available. The daily fishing schedule is flexible, so you’ll want to discuss your plans with the lodge staff every day. Most anglers choose a schedule that takes advantage of the best time to spot bonefish and permit on the flats, generally between 8:00am and 3:30pm.
The weather is another good reason for joining us. It is generally sunny and in the 80's, a nice change from our Northwest winter.
